After visiting Norway in 1972 and having the privilege of wearing the beautiful Hardanger bunad costume with its crown, metal jewellery and intricate decoration at the Utne Folk museum, I have long wanted to digitise some designs to capture Rosemaling which translates to decorative painting. I purchased a small box with Rosemaling and have loved the simplicity of the painting. Although every area of Norway has its own distinct Rosemaling and this collection does not capture a specific area.
