These designs can be embroidered on any type of fabric and also on a mixture of fabrics. I have used fabrics from curtaining and upholstery catalogs and also strips of cotton fabric and left over curtain fabric that I had. My idea was to use fabric scraps, self edges and even ugly fabrics and turn it into something beautiful. I picked 6 spools of thread in the brightest colors and used only those colors on all the blocks I have embroidered. The designs will also work well on batik fabrics and also on plain or striped fabrics. You can also embroider all the stitches in one color only.
