These colourful parrots have many stitches and take a long time to stitch out. You have to stabilize very well – I have used a thick cutaway in the hoop, add a tearaway with temporary spray underneath and the material on top. I then used the file with the basting line to sew all of this together – you may have to tighten the tension for this step to ensure that everything holds well together. Remember to put it back to normal when you start with the embroidery. I have digitized the designs in the same way that I have done the sketches – with layers of colour and a hand drawn outline. Therefore the outline is not perfect – it is meant to be like that.
