The scarf can be made of any kind of fabric, and the color choices are only limited by your imagination. We used a thin, light fabric with dense texture in a brown color. Our thread color is a close match to the fabric color, but contrasting color combinations can also work very well. Your scarf does not need to be made of any particular kind of fabric. Heavier material works just as well as lighter material. The only differences are: how it behaves inside the hoop, and how it receives cutwork.
