(King James Version)
John 1:1-15
1In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The
same was in the beginning with God. 3All
things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that
was made. 4In him was life; and the
life was the light of men. 5And the
light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6There
was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7The
same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men
through him might believe. 8He was not
that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9That
was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the
world. 10He was in the world, and the
world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He
came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe
on his name: 13Which were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of
God. 14And the Word was made flesh, and
dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15John bare witness of him, and cried,
saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is
preferred before me: for he was before me. |

Customer Comment: Thanks for taking the time to prepare the
verses for us. I am a preacher and I know these help me as you
said, "if we decide to take the time"! It is always our
decision in the end. We know that the Power within us, if we
have committed to Jesus helps us to thirst for His Word.
In Christ's Love, Steve
My favorite is John 1:1-15 |

Customer Comment: Jackie:
Thank you for the very important message in your weekly corner
today. I have added a prayer that there will be many who read
this loving invitation and make the choice to believe!

Message from
Jackie: Please know the scriptures are shared here in
the hopes that they will bring comfort and peace to you and are
not shared to give the appearance that I consider myself better
than anyone else, whether you are a Christian or not. We
are all in the same basic circumstances as human beings, we are
born into this world, we live our lives the best we can in a
complex and sometimes dangerous place, then we perish and our
bodies return to the dust of the Earth. Is that all there is?
Yes, unless we believe in a life after the death of these
fragile bodies we live in on the Earth. One's beliefs are a very
personal matter, and we all make choices of what we believe in.
I am personally convinced of the reality of Jesus, as my savior
and friend. He has shown me many times since I first heard
His voice and made a choice, that He is with me and cares for me
and will carry me through difficult times. This doesn't
mean there is anything special about me. I have all the same
good and bad traits of everyone else and I struggle to stay
positive every day, even after being a Christian for many years.
But it does mean that when I first felt the Spirit of God
touching me and asking me to make a choice, I answered the
call and made the choice to believe. And that is why I
share scriptures here with you. I pray that the Lord makes
Himself real to you. If you have not had an opportunity to
know Him yet, I pray you will become acquainted now. If
you are unsure of what to believe in or what to do, just ask to
be shown the truth, and you will find the truth, it is a free
gift given to anyone who asks. Whether we realize it or not,
there are forces that would rob us of our well-being and peace,
to steal, and kill and destroy as the scripture above says.
The protection from these forces is at the shepherd's gate, the
place where Jesus stands to protect us. Just as a shepherd
gathers his sheep together to protect them, the Good Shepherd
gathers His people (and that is all who choose to believe in
Him) to protect them. It is up to us whether we answer His
voice when He calls our name and whether we go with Him when He
says follow me. The scriptures tell us what to meditate on
and fill our minds with (see Philippians 4:8). |

This Week`s QUICK Tips |
|
|
|
TIP 1:
Any design can go anywhere it if you treat it as an iron-on
appliqué. Try stitching out your design on a fairly stable
background fabric. You’re going to need to choose a design that
looks good with the background fabric trimmed away to about ¼”
out. Now, to put your design anywhere just finger-pressure
adhere the trimmed design to some Steam-A-Seam “webbing” then
trim the “webbing” to the same size and peel back any protective
backing. Place your design, Steam-A-Seam side down where you
want you’re iron-on and iron in place.
|
|
TIP 2: To
add some spark to your designs, take a cue from commercially
embroidered designs and logos. In many places where the logo
calls for a gray or other plain color, see how the commercial
stitchers have livened it up by using metallic silver in place
of gray. Take a look at how the pros use foam to make parts of
your favorite team logos really pop. There’s much to be learned
about how to save stitches by using appliqué instead of thread
in areas with large fills. Look twice next time you have the
chance and you may learn quite a bit! |
