"If someone would have told me I would fall in love with the stories of the Texas lights I would have laughed. But Half Moon reef light was decommissioned and left to rot. An Eagle Scout spent two years completely restoring it. Bolivar Point lighthouse served as sanctuary for the only survivors of a hurricane that hit Galveston Island. Southwest Reef of Louisiana was moved up the Mississippi River to dry land to save it from certain destruction . The lighthouses have saved so many lives and now so many lives are spent working to save the lighthouses. Enjoy, Elaine"
