PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN SUMMER 2004
My husband, his brother and wife and I left Tacoma Washington for a month long trip to Hyder, Alaska to see the bears feed on salmon in fish creek. We would drive up to Vancouver British Columbia and cross by ferry to Vancouver Island. Armed with navigational charts and Internet printouts I hoped to see the lighthouses on the island and up the inside passage when we took the ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. At first my brother-in-law was blind to lighthouses but he became the best spotter in the group. We missed some due to fog, others due to distance but we saw 26 lighthouses on the trip-each unique and each a special memory. AND we saw the bear feed and glaciers calf in Hyder.
Enjoy, Elaine
