We all love to be able to use up those little scraps of fabric we hoard,
excuse me, save. This is a great project in which to make a dent in that stash.
You could be surprised to find that stash may contain fabric with designs that
go with the letters and designs, I was. I made 28 blocks and used 232 pieces of
fabric and repeated only 6 total. I tried to use each thread color only once
but, that got confusing after about 10 spools. LOL This blocks are really quite
quick to make, only the Z is more than 25 minutes stitching time. Most range
from 15 to 20 minutes.
You can also use them without the designs for a fill in block or change it up by
adding your favorite little design. I got the quilt top finished and am going to
make some soft baby blocks with these squares, too.
Each block has a stitch line around it the block size, so that when you finish
stitching, you can take a rotary cutter and a square edge and trim a 1/4 inch
seam allowance on all 4 sides. You will have a 4.5, 5.5 or 6.5 inch square
block, depending on the size your choose. 26 files and my tips on appliqué for
