Justine is the main force behind
Hennessy Embroidery. She first became interested in embroidery in
May of 2005.
She first bought Embird within days of her first
machine purchase. “I stumbled around for awhile [like most] trying
to get autodigitizing to produce great designs and finally gave
up! My first manual design went through about 25 revisions with
small tweaks after every stitch out.” She started selling designs
in 2006 and joined Oregon Patchworks in 2007.
Her favorite technique is appliqué. It is quick
to stitch and has great visual impact. She would also like to
explore free standing lace and incorporate machine embroidery into
art quilting. In fact, her other interest include art quilting,
free motion machine embroidery, hand embroidery and painting and
dyeing fabric.
She is married to Bud and has 5 children plus one
son in law. “Two are at home, the rest moved out!” Her children
range in age from 6 to 30 and she has one grandchild 4. In fact
one of her interests and skills she listed is “raising kids to be
successful adults.”
