As I am a digitizer,
Edna of EMS Designs, here at OPW, I am going to tell you a little
about me. I am 66 yrs. old and have been digitizing for about
5 yrs. now and I just keep learning more and more.
I have loved sewing and embroidery ever since I was a little girl
and always did hand embroidery with my mother and grandmother. When
they came out with the embroidery machines I thought, "WOW!" I would
love to do that!".
I love to oil paint and have painted a few of my Dad's photographs
onto 16 x 20 canvases and they make such beautiful pictures. I
took art classes at the local college for almost 10 yrs. I am
a retired hair designer and love being retired. I worked in that
field for 30 yrs. so I thought it was about time to retire, although
I could not just do nothing, so I learned how to digitized a couple
of yrs. before I retired and believe me this keeps me busy.
I am married and between my husband and myself we have 10
grandchildren although only 5 are around here. I have 3 children, 1
boy-46, 1 girl-39 and 1-boy-41 and my husband has 1 boy-44 and 1
girl-34 and the others live in Indiana. I also have 1 great
grandchild on the way from my oldest grandchild.
I live in Chester, Va., 15 miles south of Richmond, Va., where we
just had about 10 in. of snow this winter and it looked so pretty.
We have two dogs that are our babies and are spoiled rotten and they
lay up in my window by my computer while I digitize. One is a Jack
Russell named Sadie and the other is a Yorkie Poo named Rascal.
I got into digitizing when I got my first machine and curiosity got
the better of me and I just had to find out how to make a design and
make it work for me. After that I was hooked.
